London shenanigans.

I know I know...I've been a real blog slacker.
I just can't seem to find the time these days and I know some of you
were asking about my London trip.
So without further ado...
LONDON

I'm so happy I had to renew my passport and go all the way to London for this.
It gave me an excuse to meet up with one of my besties.
You know what, I would have been so lost without her there.
Luckily she knows her way around this great city!

First stop was the Belgian Embassy...getting all the passport stuff
over and done with only took about ten minutes so plenty of time for us
to wander around, catch up and take loads of silly photos.
You ready for the photo dump of the century?
Here we go.

We walked past Piccadilly

We had lunch in a Japanese restaurant and the food was to die for!
I seriously wish I could have some of that right now.

Eating noodles with chopsticks proved to be a bit of a challenge...

Oh, we also passed the Ferrari shop and I decided I HAD to have a photo
taken...I mean, why wouldn't I make my husband super jealous about the fact I got to sit on an actual
formula 1 Ferrari.

I also came across a very handsome pirate...sure I've seen him before though!

So once we were done taking photos posing with fast cars, food and
toys we decided it was time to get serious

Yes, that is us being serious.
She'll love that I posted this photo of course, but then that is the good
friend that I am.

Sadly soon after that it was time for us to part so with a hazelnut latte in
hand we said goodbye and both hopped on our trains back home.

You want to know something exciting though?

This weekend we are meeting up again!!
AND
we are also seeing another bestie...
one that was really missed while we were in London,
so much so we made a replacement

yes...she was REALLY missed! Hahaha.

Have a great Tuesday my friends

Bursting!

Jeans, cardigan, top, shoes: Next. Necklace: gift

I am bursting with pride.

Last night was Emily's parent teacher meeting and it couldn't
have gone any better!
I know Emily is really good at reading and writing, but her teacher said she is
good at EVERYTHING.
She just soaks up all the information an is so eager to learn.
Miss Dibden said there is not much more she can do before going in to
year 1 territory (which is not really allowed)
AND
she is thinking of putting Emily on the
GIFTED CHILD list!!!
How amazing is that.
I was a bit speechless after she mentioned that.
My girl is such a superstar and I am so so proud of her!
Emily's top: H&M. Necklace: Tesco

Have a great day everyone.

The day my friends husband shook my bra!

Today my blog post will be an abundance of cute fluffy animals.
I need to do this to block out the vision that's haunting me
of the
GINORMOUS UGLY
FREAKY HAIRY BIG
BLACK SPIDER
that was in my bathroom this morning.

I HATE spiders and am terrified of them

How dare it reside on my black top that I left on top of the
hamper last night!
I mean seriously, and this on a morning that hubby isn't home.
It wasn't just any spider either, it was one of those ones
that has a double body, eeeeeeek!
Emily was still sleeping so I could stop myself from screaming,
but I had to leave the bathroom FAST.
I just grabbed my make up bag, hair dryer and cardigan and closed the door
behind me as fast as I could.

About an hour later my friends arrived (we live right near the school
and they usually park their car on our drive and we then walk the kiddies
to school). My friend's husband went up to catch the beast but
of course couldn't find it anywhere!
He even shook my top and bra that were on the hamper!
Woohoo! (it just happens
to be his birthday today, what a treat to shake my bra)

Anyway, spider has gone back to his hidey hole....somewhere.
I don't know if I will be able to relax in there for the
next few days, or put the kids in the bath.
Just wish I would have had the guts to do something.
Hairspray it, or put a cup over it or hoover it up or smash it
or something!

I would love to know how to deal with spiders while being terrified.
Any hint and tips always welcome.

Let's ditch the belt and read some childrens books!

cardigan: Next. Top: Monsoon. Jeans: Next. Shoes: New look

I'm so glad I took a photo of this outfit.
It looked really good in the mirror...not so good now.
Belt is way too brown to go with the blue's of the cardigan
and top (and yes, the cardi is dark blue, not black).
Think I might ditch the belt for the rest of the day.

Anyway.

Today my little one is not feeling too well so I've kept her
home from school.
At the moment she's upstairs, I did ask her if she wanted to come down
and lay and the sofa but she didn't want to, this means she's really not well.
I think I might go up and read her some of her favourite stories.
These days she loves
the gruffalo
If you've got kids and haven't got this book I would so
recommend you get it. It's a brilliant and very clever story.

Another book, or series of books, she's really into is
Charlie and Lola
These books are just adorable. Even I love each and
every story there is. We've also got the TV series
and again I would definitely recommend!
(both books and cartoons)

Speaking about books I love.
I have been giving my husband hints about getting me
the hunger games
for mothers day (18th march here in England).
Let's hope my hints work.
I've heard the movie is being released soon and I would
love to read the books first.
I've been hearing so many good things about this trilogy.

If you have a spare minute can I ask you to check the lovely
Cori's blog
She has an important message, well worthy of sharing.

Wishing you all a happy Wednesday!

Motherhood

Top:Next. Jeans: Dorothy Perkins. Boots: Next. Bracelet: gift

This morning I went into town with a friend and
we sat down to have a coffee.
My eye fell on a mum and her toddler.
The little girl was hanging onto mums coat and crying,
begging her mommy to pick her up.
Mom was too busy texting a message on her phone and I
overheard her say "Just leave me alone and walk, you've got two legs!"
I felt so sorry for the little one.
All she wanted was her mommy.

It got me thinking...a few years from now that little
girl will be all grown up and not want picking up or cuddles
anymore.
Mom might want one then.
I wonder how many more special moments she has missed.

It just made me want to go up to school and give my
two a great big hug.
Kids grow up so fast. We should cherish each and every moment
and hug, cuddle and pick them up for as long as they let us.

Forever I hope.

The good, the bad and the ugly

How I feel blah today!
We've all got those days haven't we, where nothing feels
or looks right.
Today is DEFINITELY mine.

But let's just skip that for now and start with
the good.

Dylan had to dress up as a book character for book
week in school and he decided to go as "Where's Wally?".
I think he looked really good, even if I did have to draw the
glasses on myself (I thought they were included in the outfit, but
quite clearly they weren't).
Looking at the picture now he kind of reminds me of one
of those prisoners you see in old black and white movies, hahaha!
He did have a wicked time in school and really enjoyed being
"Wally" for the day.

Yesterday Dylan earned his yellow karate belt. How good is that!
I'm very proud of my little karate kid.
By the way, he's in his sisters room here...just in case you were wondering.

Emily had loads of fun blowing bubbles
the other day. Doesn't she look funky in her disco glasses?!
It was the first really warm day of the year.
First day we could go out without any coats on, so we took
full advantage!
Before blowing bubbles both her and Dylan had been
scooting up and down the road and transforming
our pavement into a chalk masterpiece.
Another good thing is these crisps I'm eating.
Yum yum, cheesy goodness. They are making a bit of a mess
but are SO worth it.

A seriously good thing is the way Simon recovered after his surgery!
He had 18 inches of his colon removed last Monday, and came back
home on Friday! So happy it all went well. He's still taking it all very easy
but I am just amazed at his recovery. He's pretty much looking like himself
again and has the same bed hair as in this photo which was taken over Christmas.

When walking to the postbox earlier I noticed tiny buds on the trees.
Soon they will look like this.
I LOVE it when the trees blossom, so beautiful.
Spring is such a pretty month.

Maybe one more good....I kind of really like the outfit I am wearing in
the photo above, especially the necklace

This photo also takes me straight to

the bad.

Yep,
photography skills are far from perfect here!
Even the posing in the top photo is awkward, I mean
come on, I was scratching my head!

Moving on.

Ha, talking about moving, we are thinking of moving house
so two weeks ago we found the perfect little family home with
a great kitchen, rooms big enough to fit all our stuff and a big garden
that will fit our trampoline. (the garden we have now doesn't fit
the trampoline. Well it does but then there is no room for ANYTHING
else).
It was all very exciting until we found out the house was
no longer available.
Too bad :(

the ugly.
My hair.
Not a lot to say about that, my mop just isn't
co operating at all these days.
Next Monday I have a hairdressers appointment....finally!

Hmm, reading back on all this I realise there
is no reason for me to feel blah at all.
There is so much good going on.
I think I'll just smile for the rest of the day
and try not to care (about my drab hair).

Linking up with these fabulous ladies today

Have a happy Tuesday my friends!
