Lost and found.

Jeans, cardigan:Next, top:Primark, belt:Forever21, necklace:Wonton Mommy

I had a completely different outfit planned for today.
Red and blue.
Then this morning I was rummaging through my collection
of necklaces and happened upon one I hadn't worn in a while.
All of a sudden I knew I had to wear it today.
So the red cardigan I had planned went and the mustard one was brought in.
I love when things like this happen.
You see,
I hadn't forgotten about this necklace, I had put it in a
little bag to protect it and over the months it had worked itself
to the back of the drawer.
Finding it again was like being reunited with an old friend.

So glad I came across it again.

Have a great Wednesday!

Two faves on a Wednesday

I have two of my favourites to show you today.
Two items that I know I will wear A LOT in the next few months
First up
My boots.

top, jeans:Next. cardigan: Forever 21. boots: Simply Be. necklace: New Look

With the weather being so wet here lately I finally
got the big guns out.
My boots that is.
I was really looking forward to wearing these and so far they haven't
disappointed.
Being small and chubby I've always had trouble finding boots that fit my calf,
you see I could never do them up and if I finally did find a pair
they were so tight I couldn't possibly wear them with jeans.
A few weeks back I was browsing Simply Be and came across these
lovelies and guess what...
They come in different calf sizes!
PERFECT.
I knew I had to have them.
Comfortable and stylish I just know they'll be my best friends until spring
is upon us again.

Another of my faves is this bubble necklace,
I adore the deep red colour,
I love how versatile it is, I think can pretty much team this up
with any outfit.
I just happened upon it while
walking around in Canterbury. I'd only ever seen these online before so
thank you New Look for finally selling these (at a VERY affordable price).

So there you have it.
Have you got any favourites you know you'll be wearing all the time?

Awkward, me???

Cardigan, trousers, shoes: Next. Top: H&M

Posing for pictures is definitely NOT my strong point!
As soon as the lens is pointing at me I become all stiff and forced,
I get all uncoordinated, have no clue what to do with my hands, face or body
and the photo's that follow are usually hopeless.

I wish I could be as elegant as Katie, but then I don't have her long killer legs
and confidence in front of the camera.
Cori's photo's are always amazing, she's such a natural and she's so pretty. Really wish
I could be as photogenic as her!

With me, this is what you get

Awkward doesn't even begin to describe it!

Please please please all you fashion bloggers tell me your secrets so that for once I can post
a decent photo on this little blog of mine!

It's oh so quiet

Jeans, top, shoes: Next

We have finally unpacked all the boxes and everything has found a space in the new house.
Phew, it was quite a job.
This house is a little bit smaller so we had to shift some furniture around, find new
places for a few nick nacks and store some picture frames in a safe place
but
it is finally done!
I can now start enjoying the house and getting to know the neighbourhood.

Want to know what else is sorted?
The kids are finally back in school, yesssss!
Even though it was nice to have them home for two weeks it is a lot nicer
when you are not trying to decorate a house.
I can pretend I liked having them make a mess in their room five minutes
after I finished unpacking and sorting in there...
but I didn't really!

Emily is a champion at that (something she definitely got from her dad!).
She'll be playing upstairs for like five minutes but in that time she'll make
it look like a whirlwind passed through there.

Anyway, here I my little urchins ready for their first day in the new school,
in the new school uniform.

Say " new school!"

I'm sure they will have fantastic time and I can't wait to hear all about it.
In the meantime I'm off to enjoy the first quiet day in two weeks!

Summery outfit

top, trousers: George. Shoes: Next. Bracelet: peacocks

As you can tell by this outfit, I love this seasons colours!
Mints, corals, pastels....heaven!
To be honest this outfit makes me feel like going on holiday.
 Italy maybe,
where I can be surrounded by ice creams, scooters and non stop sunshine.

Ah lovely sunshine, we haven't had a lot of you lately.
As I opened up the curtains this morning we had a few hopeful
rays trying to break through the thick grey clouds but by the time I got dressed
in this summery outfit the clouds had won.
Oh well, I guess I will have to brighten up the day myself.

Maybe I went a bit too bright adding the coral shoes.
Now I love mint and coral together but somehow it didn't translate.
Maybe it's because there is already an overload of colours.
Luckily I have some great nudes to tone it down

shoes: New look

Much better no?!
Now excuse me as I go in pursuit of ice creams, scooters and
sunshine.
Ciao Bella!

Very Glee

Dress:Primark. Cardigan: Next. Shoes: New Look

Yesterday I went shopping with some friends.
Apart from buying some socks and summer tops for the kids
I wasn't going to buy ANYTHING!

Until I saw this pretty dress that was.

I tried it on for fun thinking it wasn't going to fit me anyway
and
that way I could walk away knowing the dress wasn't right for me.

So yeah, that didn't work and the dress ended up in my basket!
My friend says it makes me look very Glee.

I love Glee.

Bursting!

Jeans, cardigan, top, shoes: Next. Necklace: gift

I am bursting with pride.

Last night was Emily's parent teacher meeting and it couldn't
have gone any better!
I know Emily is really good at reading and writing, but her teacher said she is
good at EVERYTHING.
She just soaks up all the information an is so eager to learn.
Miss Dibden said there is not much more she can do before going in to
year 1 territory (which is not really allowed)
AND
she is thinking of putting Emily on the
GIFTED CHILD list!!!
How amazing is that.
I was a bit speechless after she mentioned that.
My girl is such a superstar and I am so so proud of her!
Emily's top: H&M. Necklace: Tesco

Have a great day everyone.

Adjusting.

Jeans, top, cardigan, necklace: Next

Yesterday was one of those days were the weather surprises you.
You know, misty in the mornings, dewdrops on the grass and
then the sun breaks through along with spring.
How lovely it was to walk out without having to wear a coat,
to be able to wear flats and not have cold feet and to feel the
sun on my face.

So you can imagine my disappointment when I opened
the curtains this morning and was greeted by a cold, dull grey day.
The coral spring outfit I had planned to wear was
put back in the wardrobe and out came
my black jeans and boots.
Sometimes you just have to adjust.

Have a great Wednesday my friends!

Let's ditch the belt and read some childrens books!

cardigan: Next. Top: Monsoon. Jeans: Next. Shoes: New look

I'm so glad I took a photo of this outfit.
It looked really good in the mirror...not so good now.
Belt is way too brown to go with the blue's of the cardigan
and top (and yes, the cardi is dark blue, not black).
Think I might ditch the belt for the rest of the day.

Anyway.

Today my little one is not feeling too well so I've kept her
home from school.
At the moment she's upstairs, I did ask her if she wanted to come down
and lay and the sofa but she didn't want to, this means she's really not well.
I think I might go up and read her some of her favourite stories.
These days she loves
the gruffalo
If you've got kids and haven't got this book I would so
recommend you get it. It's a brilliant and very clever story.

Another book, or series of books, she's really into is
Charlie and Lola
These books are just adorable. Even I love each and
every story there is. We've also got the TV series
and again I would definitely recommend!
(both books and cartoons)

Speaking about books I love.
I have been giving my husband hints about getting me
the hunger games
for mothers day (18th march here in England).
Let's hope my hints work.
I've heard the movie is being released soon and I would
love to read the books first.
I've been hearing so many good things about this trilogy.

If you have a spare minute can I ask you to check the lovely
Cori's blog
She has an important message, well worthy of sharing.

Wishing you all a happy Wednesday!
