What summer does to me

Icecreammmmmm,
I've been eating way too much of you this week!
Why oh why do you have to be so good?
Honestly peeps, you should have seen the plate (yes plate not bowl, it's bigger!)
of ice cream I had earlier this week.
Two giant scoops of vanilla and two giant scoops of chocolate
topped with a flake
and a slice of cake.
Nothing for the faint hearted here!
If I keep going like this I will burst out of my pants any day.

I know I know you are jealous right!
Why wouldn't you be of my wicked sunburn / tan line.
I love how it looks when I wear sleeveless tops. It just finishes
off my outfit don't you think.
hmmm.
All I need now are sock tan lines.
Groovy.

Playing tennis with the kiddies, barefoot while
wearing Emily's sunhat.
Who cares if it is way too small for me,
it's the cutest little sunhat ever and
we had fun
Summer also makes me do creepy poses over little people.
Not sure what I am on about?
Have a look at this next photo.

She was actually taking pictures of our shadows...
that was until she got distracted by cow poop and decided to start taking pictures of that
instead. Don't believe me.
Look.

cow poop on my blog...proud moment here people!
Proud moment.
aaaaaaand
moving on.

Summer also makes me wrap parcels in the park.
This particular "parcel" requested to be wrapped up even more.
I wasn't too bothered about my parcel wrapping skills here
but someone who will be able to tell you all about them is
She was the winner of my giveaway a few weeks back and  has written the
most adorable post about receiving her "Royal Mail".
Go and read it here and say hi to her while you are there will you.
Doesn't she rock those earrings!

OK and with that this icecream eating, tanlined, tiny sunhat wearing, creepy posing,
poop posting, parcel wrapping
LADY
is saying
Have a good weekend!!

I plan to have a great summer!

Today is the last day of school here in England.
When they go back in September I'll have a child in year 4 and one in year 1.
Eeeek, why do they have to grow up so fast!
Until then though we have six weeks of summer holidays.
Six weeks.
I don't know if I am excited or scared.
You see last summer I had all my friends nearby and we all met up
about every other day so our kiddies could play and we had a fantastic summer.
This year we moved and my friends are a bit too far away to do
those meet ups.
I haven't really met any any other mums yet.
Making new friends is HARD.
Nevertheless I do want to have a good summer and not hear
"what can we do, I'm booooooored" every five minutes.

I would love to do something arty crafty and have fun each day
so for the past couple of days I've been
looking for some good ideas of what we can make / do.
Last year we made masks

This is something we are definitely doing again this year, They not only loved decorating
their masks but they also had some good imaginative play after.

Another hit last year was making puffy paint pictures
We'll make some more of these masterpieces this summer.

A few other things I want to do with them this summer are

Make paper plate sun catchers
Make ice cream cloud dough
Do some scratch art
Make salt dough necklaces
Make some kites
Do some egg carton painting
Make salty watercolour paintings
Make kool aid play dough
Make home made bubbles
Paint with water
Paint rocks
Make cress head people
Make collages
Decorate water bottles
Make cardboard houses for the Lego people / little ponies
Make summer journals and write in them every day
Make jewellery
Make and decorate a trinket box

Make waffles
Make and decorate cupcakes
Make home made ice cream and ice lollies
Bake cookies
Make loads of smoothies
Make lemonade
Bake a cake and have a party for no reason
Make a summer play list and play the songs every day
Learn a dance routine to a favourite song

Go on a nature scavenger hunt
Go Geocaching

Go for picnics
Go to the zoo
Go on an ABC photo walk
Let the kids play in a stream

Go fossil hunting
Go to the play park
Have water balloon fights
Go to the beach
Make sandcastles

And if mother nature decides to give us some sun
Have the pool up in the garden!

Phew, looks like we ARE going to be busy.
Well I am ready for it.
Bring it on!

Have a great summer my friends!.

fun in the sun

I don't know what it's like at your house,
but when my kiddies come home from school they are famished!
First thing they do when they get through the door is raid the cupboard for
goodies and after school snacks.
Must be all the learning that makes them so hungry.
clever little peanuts.

Yesterday the sun remembered it was in fact summer in England
so instead of having the kiddies indoors I decided to treat them to an
after school picnic.
They loved it!
Once their little bellies were all filled Dylan went off to play ball tag
with some friends and Emily and me played "the princess and the witch", me
being the witch of course!
It was loads of fun.
We'll de doing this again soon.
Have a great weekend my lovely friends!
