Valentines day, then and now

See that, that was our valentines day back in 2000.
Our very first valentines day.

I'm trying to remember WHY Simon was wearing a bow tie?!
No idea.
Maybe he thought it was fashionable, romantic or the
thing to wear on a special day like that.
I'm also trying to remember WHY I didn't tell him to
take it off.
What I do remember is that the day starting out with flowers,
and chocolates and a gigantic card and the day
ending with a romantic dinner.

Fast forward 12 years

Today started out with breakfast in bed.
Simon and the kiddies made pancakes
and then surprised me by bringing them up.
I also got some lovely home made cards
from Dylan and Emily and a
not so gigantic but very romantic
card from Simon.
No fancy dinner tonight, Simon has to go away
on a business trip, so me and the kiddies
are having a pizza / movie night.

A lot has changed in the past 12 years,
but this valentines day is still as special to
me as the first one.

Love you all! xxx

Aww! I loved this. 12 years does grow many differences but it's great that you find today just as great as then.

Love the pizza and movie idea!

I'm not sure, but I kind of like the bowtie. Of course I'm not sure I can say I've ever seen a guy wear one except at a wedding though. And I love that you have a picture as proof. Happy Valentine's Day!

How funny! No clue why he's sporting a bow tie huh? I assumed a wedding but you would probably remember that.

What a sweet Daddy and precious kiddos to serve you breakfast in bed. Mine are too old now and since I won't let them stay home from school on this "Holiday" it was me making them breakfast.

Thanks for linking up with us, IA and I xoxo you!
