Love the little things

Today I'm joining in with But Why Mummy Why's link up.

*Love the little things*

The idea behind the posts is that they are a weekly chance to remember the little things you’ve loved that join up to make your week.

Read

I've been reading the first book of The Mortal Instruments series, it's called city of bones and so far it's pretty good. I say so far because I'm only on page 90 and considering I started reading it just after Christmas that's pretty bad. I'm much more of a reader when it's sunny and warm and I can go and sit out in the garden! When I'm inside I find myself often too distracted by other things to read for very long. Bring on summer! Anyway, back to the book. I'm quite liking it, the characters are great and it's a pretty easy read. I'll definitely be reading the others in this series.
Oh, and there's a movie as well!

Watched

While we are waiting for most of our favourite series to return we've been catching up on box sets (thanks Sky on Demand!). We've watched the whole first season of Arrow (LOVE it) and we've just finished watching Revolution, can definitely recommend that one! Another one I've started catching up on is Grey's anatomy, seasons 8 and 9. OMG...I can not believe what has happened so far. Very sad...but I still love it.

Heard

I really love this song, every time it's on, the radio gets turned up!

Made

Erm.........nothing much this week.  Let's see, I made dinner every night, and....ah I know...on Sunday I made bacon and lentil soup. Very tasty and super easy to make. The kids weren't too impressed which meant more for me, ha!

Wore

I bought this lovely Essie nail polish last weekend and have been wearing it most of the week.
It's called mint candy apple and is such a gorgeous colour.

And lastly..

Last weekend we had a sleepover for Dylan's birthday. He turned ten in December but every time we tried to organise it back then something came up or someone couldn't make it. So we put it on hold.
He was soooo excited to have three of his best friends around!
I was dreading it to be honest but it all turned out so much better than expected.
The first two hours were MANIC!!!
All boys were overexcited, very loud and jumping from one end of the living room to the other.
Then it was pizza time and they all quieted down a bit while they ate and watched a movie.
After that they went back on the Xbox for an evening of Minecraft playing.
It did turn out to be a late night, they didn't go to sleep until half past midnight, whoops.
It did take me back to when I was a little girl and having sleepovers, giggling away to ourselves every time one of the parents came and shushed us.
Morning came and all boys were pretty tired but they all had an amazing time.
Also, quite glad Emily wasn't home for all of this, she had her very own sleepover at her auntie's house. She would have been a wreck otherwise!
I think I'll definitely allow sleepovers again.

The nail colour is lovely! I love Greys! I didn't watch the early series and only really got into it a couple of series ago but I am hooked!
